Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah is in active practice as a corporate and commercial Barrister and Solicitor in Ghana. He was called to the Bar and admitted to the Solicitors’ roll of the Republic of Ghana in 2010, two years after being called to the Bar of England and Wales.
In practice, Nana has undertaken legal work for both national and international clients, including but not limited to telecommunication companies and various financial institutions in and outside Ghana.
Within the telecommunications sector, Nana has represented various telecommunication companies in various disputes including but not limited to high -value commercial disputes with suppliers and independent distributorsin addition to copyright, employment and contractual disputes.
Further, Nana’s strong understanding of financial instrument such as letters of credit and bank guarantees has assisted in his legal practice for not only financial institutions but many commercial transactions.
Nana’s skilled negotiations have resulted in the sustainable resolution of some of the complicated land disputes and savings to the parties involved. His experience in the superior courts of Ghana including the Supreme Court together with an attention to detail, and understanding of the core of any dispute ensures that clients’ needs are met.
Before going to private practice, Nana worked for Vodafone, an international telecommunications company as its Contracts Manager.
He was responsible for setting up the contracts management section within the Vodafone Business Solution in 2009 before moving to the Litigations and Dispute Resolutions section of the Legal Department, where he represented the company in court as its counsel in various commercial disputes.
Nana, as mentioned above, was first called to the Bar of the England and Wales in the year 2008 by the Honourable Society of Lincolns Inn and also has a postgraduate degree in advance international trade practice from the BPP Law School, London.
